Lactobacillus Reuteri Alleviates Oral Mucositis in Patients Undergoing Radiotherapy for Malignant Head and Neck Tumors
Radiation therapy is a common treatment modality in the management of head and neck malignancies. However, head and neck tumors often have some adverse reactions when receiving radiation therapy, such as dry mouth, change of taste, oral mucositis, etc. Among them, the incidence of oral mucositis is more than 90%, and the incidence of oral mucositis of degree 3 or more than degree 3 is more than 50%. Severe oral mucositis seriously affects the quality of survival of patients. Lactobacillus Reuteri is a natural flora of the human body that can be found in the gastrointestinal tract, skin, etc. Among them, Lactobacillus Reuteri DSM ...

Larotrectinib for the Treatment of NTRK Amplification Positive, Locally Advanced or Metastatic Solid Tumors
This phase II trial studies the effect of larotrectinib in treating patients with NTRK gene amplification positive solid tumors that have spread to nearby tissues or lymph nodes (locally advanced) or other places in the body (metastatic). Larotrectinib may stop the growth of tumor cells by blocking some of the enzymes needed for cell growth.

Laser Therapy Effect as Preventive Measure for Oral Mucositis in Children With Hematological Malignancies
Introduction: Among the most drastic complications of chemotherapy is oral mucositis(OM). It is a painful inflammatory, often ulcerative condition and may increase risk for systemic infections leading to prolonged hospital stays and interruptions of treatment protocol. Many treatment modalities have been introduced for the prevention and treatment of oral mucositis , of which low level laser therapy(LLLT) is gaining popularity. The use of LLLT as a prophylactic treatment for chemotherapy induced oral mucositis in pediatric cancer patients is still lacking robust evidence. Also, the parameters used have not been optimized and no...

Lenvatinib and Pembrolizumab in People With Advanced Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma and Other Salivary Gland Cancers
The purpose of this study is to see if the study drugs, lenvatinib and pembrolizumab, are effective in treating advanced Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC) or other salivary gland cancers that have come back and/or spread to other parts of the body. Researchers are also doing this study to test the safety of the study drugs in participants.

Magnetic Localization of Sentinel Nodes in Squamous Cell Oral Carcinoma.
Sentinel node biopsy has been shown to be a viable alternative to elective neck dissection in the early stages of squamous cell oral carcinoma. The aim of this study was to describe the magnetic localization of sentinel nodes (SN) after peritumoral injection of superparamagnetic iron oxide (SPIO) for treating this type of tumor and to analyze the technique's diagnostic performance in 23 patients. The technique located SNs (with minimal complication) in 95.6 % (22/23) of the patients. Three relapses occurred, one in a patient who had shown negative in magnetic SN location and elective neck dissection. The diagnostic performance of magnetic ...

Maintenance Oral Etoposide or Observation Following High-dose Chemo for GCT
This is an open label randomized phase II trial of maintenance oral etoposide vs. observation in patinets with relapsed GCT treated with high-dose chemotherapy (HDCT) and peripheral-blood stem-cell transplant (PBSCT).

Mandibular Reconstruction Preplanning (ViPMR)
Virtual Surgical Planning (VSP), where 3D modeling is used to create 3D-printed surgical guides, has been shown to improve outcomes for patients who undergo mandibular reconstruction surgery, usually due to invasion of cancer from the oral cavity to the jaw. This trial will directly compare the outcomes of patients who receive VSP versus patients who receive the current standard of care, which is Free-Hand Surgery (FHS). They will be randomized into either treatment at a 1:1 ratio and bony union rates will be compared between 12-month postoperative CT scans for each treatment group. Secondary objectives include comparing other short...

Measuring the Effects of Talazoparib in Patients With Advanced Cancer and DNA Repair Variations
This phase II trial studies if talazoparib works in patients with cancer that has spread to other places in the body (advanced) and has mutation(s) in deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) damage response genes who have or have not already been treated with another PARP inhibitor. Talazoparib is an inhibitor of PARP, a protein that helps repair damaged DNA. Blocking PARP may help keep cancer cells from repairing their damaged DNA, causing them to die. PARP inhibitors are a type of targeted therapy. All patients who take part on this study must have a gene aberration that changes how their tumors are able to repair DNA. This trial may help ...

Medico-economic Evaluation of the ONCORAL Program for Ambulatory Patients Under Oral Anticancer Drugs Versus Usual Care
Economic impact of cancer treatments is increasing for years: increase of number of patients (385 000 new occurrences in 2015), increase of life expectancies, chronicization of diseases and increase of therapeutic innovation costs. Oral anticancer drugs allow the ambulatory turn in oncologic treatments, avoid hospitalizations dues to injectable chemotherapies and improve patient autonomy. In real life situation, these drugs still remain linked to significant drug iatrogenic effects: prevalent adverse events and potentially serious ones, drugs interactions for one other patient, considered as major in 15-20% cases, and...
